The Philanthropic Side Quest

Baltic Bangers isn’t just about busted cars—it’s about doing a bit of good along the way.

10% of all ticket revenue goes directly to Maisto Bankas — Lithuania’s largest food bank.

Who They Are

Maisto Bankas rescues surplus food from supermarkets, farms, and restaurants and redistributes it to people who need it most — including families, seniors, and individuals facing food insecurity.

In 2023, they saved and shared over 7,000 tons of edible food.

And yes — they operate a charity kitchen in Klaipėda, right where Baltic Bangers begins and ends. So your trip isn’t just scenic — it’s anchored in a real place doing real good.

Why It Matters

We’re out here burning fuel and collecting gravel dents in the name of fun. But there’s a deeper kind of excess we can’t ignore: Europe throws away over 88 million tons of food annually. And meanwhile, nearly 1 in 10 people in Lithuania—specifically 9.7% of the population—live in conditions of severe material and social deprivation (Eurostat, 2023). That means going without essentials like a warm meal every second day, the ability to heat their home, or afford basic bills. It’s a quiet struggle, often hidden in plain sight—even in the towns and villages we’ll drive through.

Food waste isn’t just a trash problem — it’s a justice problem.

Why We Support It

  • It’s local, tangible, and practically impactful
  • It tackles waste, inequality, and dignity in one go
  • It echoes our values: low-budget, high-effort, big heart
  • And yes, they’re feeding people right where we start and finish — Klaipėda

How We Help

From every ticket sold, 10% goes straight to Maisto Bankas. No middlemen. No fluff. Just more meals to more people.

We’ll share the donation receipt after the trip, and if you want to do more: 👉 Donate directly to Maisto Bankas

Why Not Charity X?

Sometimes life is about choices. We would have loved to support an initiative in each country along the route — Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania. You can argue that some places, causes or organisations need it more. You’d probably be right.

We chose Maisto Bankas because even a modest donation goes a long way. They have a strong track record, low overhead, and a direct, transparent impact — including a functioning kitchen in Klaipėda, the very city we launch and finish in.

If your heart pulls you toward a cause in Latvia, Estonia, or anywhere else along the route — we genuinely encourage it. Whether it’s a local food pantry, animal shelter, school fundraiser, or roadside recycling effort, there’s no wrong way to give back.

That said, just to be clear — 10% of all ticket sales will go to Maisto Bankas, no matter what. It’s our way of giving back to the place where this whole mad journey begins and ends. If you feel called to do more, we’re all for it.

The road gives us a lot. This is just one way of giving something back — and we welcome others.

Not all heroes drive an 1989 Open Corsa on backroads…

…but some do. And they also fund food aid while doing burnouts in the rain.

Thanks for being part of a journey that’s fun for us — and meaningful for someone else.
